Caravan Clan Trend - Fall/Winter 2017-18 (Arsutoria)

Published
May 18, 2016

Migrant nomads, modern warriors of streetwear, founders of the Outdoor style, in all shapes and sizes. Tribes that travel across extreme and contemporary countries.

"Caravan Clan" Trend AW 2017/18 - Arsutoria

Folkish tribalism as predicted by The Armory Show in NW. The turbulent Middle East, amid conflicts and destruction. The West infused with electronic interferences and cultural and religious clashes. Adventurous style, between ethnicity and folklore, between arrogant and rebellious outdoor and combat styles.
Brutal interpretation of the mixed ethnic underground. A wild street style proposed by young international designers who interpret the local craftsmanship.

Colours
Rich and precious shades. Bright and vivid reds, oranges and yellows. Preference for a rich palette of winter colours that renew the classics, with bold, strong hues.

Materials
The world of vegetable-tanned leather, natural and authentic, thickened, processed and enriched by processes and treatments. The colours and textures are crucial to highlight used and vintage effects and experiments. Worn and chiselled, brocade and lasered lace, greased cowhide and oiled half calves. A mix of colours and textures, especially in fur and wool.
The style as a whole suggests a scramble of materials and volumes with manual techniques and experimental overlapping, of exquisite workmanship. Paints and removal treatments apply new fluorescent pigments and metallic crackling effects. Oxidations and surprises of colour on leather with printed grains and on the components mixed with multi-coloured plexiglass.
