Wolverine Worldwide announces global leadership appointments

Rockford, Michigan-based outdoor apparel company Wolverine World Wide Inc. (Wolverine Worldwide) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Jim Zwiers as president, global operations group, and the appointment of Matt Blonder as its new president, global e-commerce. 

Zwiers has been with Wolverine Worldwide for almost 23 years, and will concurrently serve as president, international group, a position he has held since 2014, and will remain executive vice president of the company, as well as a member of the executive leadership team.

In this new position, he will be responsible for portfolio-wide sourcing, logistics, distribution, customer service, and information technology.  

“Jim is uniquely and ideally suited to lead the Global Operations Group, and I could not be more pleased with this expansion of his role,” said Blake Krueger, Wolverine Worldwide’s chairman and CEO. 

“His extensive experience with the company’s brands and international operations, coupled with his digital background and successful implementation of speed-to-market initiatives, will help accelerate the company’s digital-first transformation and global e-commerce growth.” 

Meanwhile, Blonder is joining the company from Reebok, a division of Adidas, where he was global head of digital. He equally has more than 20 years of omni-channel, consumer direct, digital marketing, and merchandising experience. 

The company currently has a goal to achieve $500 million in global e-commerce revenue for 2021, noted Brendan Hoffman, Wolverine Worldwide’s president.

“Matt’s proven track record makes him the ideal person to lead this ongoing digital transformation,” he added. 

Wolverine World Wide’s portfolio includes the Merrell, Sperry, Hush Puppies, Wolverine and Stride Rite brands, among others. The company’s products are currently available in 170 countries and territories around the globe.
