It was under the rain of Breton that the twelve designers competing in the Young International Designers' Festival (Le Festival des Jeunes Créateurs de Mode) in Dinan, showcased six designs imagined for the occasion during two fashion shows, before presenting inside the Jacobins Theatres.

With his technical designs (using mainly materials that reflect light) that conveyed a certain femininity, Dario Briegmann, from Germany, won the womenswear prize, while the military-inspired pieces of the Korean duo behind Cognaq caught the eye of the menswear jury. Meanwhile, the delicacy of Agathe Du Preissoir lingerie designs won over the work of her competitors in the lingerie category.

As the womenswear winner, 21-year-old Dario Briegmann, a student in Esmod's final year, won 4,000 euros and a booth at Who's Next. To award the prize, Frank Sorbier, the president of the jury, left the honor to Michael Scherpe, president of Messe Frankfurt France and one of the main partners of the Young International Designers' Festival of Dinan. Their common nationality was noted by Michael Scherpe, who did not hesitate to point out that another German has distinguished himself in fashion for decades now - Karl Lagerfeld - and wished Dario Briegmann the same haloed success.

Hosik Yoo and Soohyun Park, the two designers behind Cognaq, received the jury’s consensus. The Koreans, inspired by the military world, developed elegant pieces from carpets, or embroidery with Plexiglas stripes, which came encrusted in lace. The duo were awarded 4,000 euros and a booth at Who's Next.

"For menswear, the choice was very quick," said Frank Sorbier, president of the jury. "We were immediately seduced by these retro silhouettes, inspired by the 1940s, but revised and corrected for today’s taste. There was fantasy, rigor and it remained masculine, which we liked very much."

For lingerie, the jury, who was headed by dancer Fauve Hautot, chose the youngest of the festival, Agathe Du Preissoir. With her white and poetic pieces, inspired by Louisiana and the image of a bird woman, Black Swan's brilliant alter ego, she was also honored with the Eco- TLC Design Award. For the first prize, she won 5,000 euros and the creation of an undergarment line with the brand Allande Lingerie. The second reward will allow her to create an eco-friendly outfit thanks to Eco-TLC.

Two final awards were presented during the Young International Designers' Festival of Dinan. The first, the Gavotte prize, where designers were were charged to achieve a "crisp and elegant" silhouette using lace, provided by the French federation of lace and embroidery, was awarded to the Peruvian designer, Julia Belot for her black dress designed based on Calais-Caudry Lace, offered by the fashion house My Desseilles. The second, the Avantex prize, was given to Grégoire Willerval, a 23-year-old Frenchman, who participated for the second time in the festival with his men's brand, Eclort, which mixes urban fashion, sportswear and slogan T-shirts with ironic punchlines.

To discover all the creations, visitors are able to attend the Joyce Gallery from April 24 to 26, at 168, Galerie de Valois, in the 1st district of Paris.
