Thom Browne joins coed wave

Thom Browne has decided to present its future menswear and women's wear collections in mixed runway shows, according to reports.

The new format will be introduced for the brand's event in Paris Fashion Week, which will run from February 24 to March 3, 2020, reported Women's Wear Daily (WWD), on Thursday November 14.

Several fashion houses have recently opted to replace distinct events for men's and women's ready-to-wear with coed or mixed format  shows, notably in New York and Milan. Until now the French capital has not been affected by this major trend, but this will soon change when Thom Browne rings the changes on the catwalk at the next Paris Fashion Week.

From now on, the American label plans to use a single event to present its men's and women's wear collections. Its first mixed show will be held on March 1, when Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, to showcase its 2020-2021 autumn-winter collections.

In early November, the fashion house Versace announced that it was also adopting a mixed format next year, with just two shows in February and September in Milan. However, the change will not be permanent but solely confined to 2020.

In contrast, Gucci recently announced its intention to return to dual shows for men's and women's wear. The fashion house, which had previously embraced the mixed format, will be in Milan January to unveil its latest menswear collection.
