Ted Baker names new head of menswear sales

Published
Sep 7, 2022

Ted Baker has announced a key appointment in its sales team and it’s clearly one that’s become even more important given the brand’s likely sale to Authentic Brands Group as it targets faster international growth.

James Waller - Ted Baker

The company said on Wednesday that James Waller has joined the business as Head of Sales for Menswear.

He’s an “established industry figure with a proven track record in the international contemporary menswear market” and has an impressive background in the wholesale field. He was previously sales manager at 55DSL and Diesel and more recently was commercial director for N16 Vintage and Common Trade London.

Waller said he’s excited to be joining at this time and being a “critical part of this new chapter at Ted Baker”.

The company announced last month that ABG would be buying it — dependent on shareholder approval — in a deal worth around £211 million.

The deal will also see the company making a major push into the North American market, and restructuring its business model with a bigger focus on licensing.
