Sézane eyes Spain as it prepares next pop-up

French fashion firm Sézane is set to launch its first bricks-and-mortar store in Spain next month. The pop-up will launch at 79 Claudio Coello on 11 March, running until 28 April.

Sézane is to open the new pop-up in March - Sézane

Featuring the brand’s L’Appartement retail concept, which also shapes Sézane’s permanent stores in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, London and New York, the new location will see the brand take up residence in the heart of the Salamanca neighbourhood. Spreading over 160 sq m, the pop-up will present the Spring 2020 collection, as well as a curated assortment from the label’s menswear sub-brand, Octobre, which consists of jeans, shirts and knitwear.

The first Sézane store in Spain will also offer calligraphy courses, print workshops and embroidery classes, as well as screen-printing workshops. A range from its lifestyle category will be on sale exclusively in-store.

“This is the first time we are in Spain, and we are excited to come to Madrid. We want to present our new spring collection, which is brighter and more creative than ever, but also made from more than 70% eco-responsible materials,” said Morgane Sézalory, brand founder.

The pop-up opening is part of the brand’s European tour, which has seen it take its temporary concept to French cities including Bordeaux, Lyon and Lille, Morgane Sézalory told FashionNetwork.com last year.

With revenues of over €80 million in 2018, the brand is known for its nonchalant aesthetic and vintage flair. It sells cardigans for €100, dresses for €150 and handbags for €300, joining a wave of mid-market French brands that are taking Spain by storm, such as Balzac Paris and SMCP’s labels Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot.
