Revlon appoints new chief supply chain officer

Published

New York-based beauty conglomerate Revlon, Inc. announced on Thursday that Mary Kay Cosmetics alum Thomas Cho joined the company as its new chief supply chain officer earlier this month.

In his new role, Cho is responsible for Revlon’s end-to-end global supply chain operations, including supply chain strategy, planning, procurement, manufacturing, engineering, distribution and logistics across the company’s brand portfolio, channels and geographies. He reports directly to Revlon president and CEO Debra Perelman.

Cho joins the company from Chicago-based PPI Beauty, where he served as chief operating officer, establishing a new, formal S&OP process and optimizing supply chain across North America and China.

Prior to this, Cho served in a range of senior executive positions, including chief operating officer, at custom plastic solutions manufacturer Transcendia, where he worked from 2018 to 2020. During this two-year period, he drove the company’s transition from commodity plastics to medical-focused solutions.

From 2013 to 2018, Cho held the role of chief supply chain officer at Mary Kay Cosmetics. Here he drove the company’s rapid growth in China, focusing on the expansion of its brand portfolio with locally relevant skincare, fragrances, color cosmetics and nutritional lines.

The executive’s prior experience also includes a two-year stint as chief operating officer at Cosmetic Essence Innovations, as well as roles at United Plastics Group, Trend Technologies and Space Systems Loral.

“The needs and complexity of Revlon require deep expertise across our supply chain strategy,” commented Perelman in a release. “Thomas brings a unique skillset in process optimization, especially within the cosmetics industry, and will be a welcome addition to Revlon’s team as we move forward with our strategic initiatives.”

In the second quarter ended June 30, 2021, Revlon reported a net loss of $67.7 million on sales of $497.4 million, which represented a 43.1% rise in revenue compared to the same period in the previous year. As well as its namesake Revlon brand, the company’s portfolio includes brands such as Elizabeth Arden, Almay and American Crew.
