Parfums Christian Dior names Philippe Farnier global executive vice-president

Three weeks after reorganising its beauty division, which includes Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain, LVMH Fragrance Brands (Parfums Givenchy and Kenzo) and the Kendo brand incubator (with brands like Ole Henriksen and Fenty Beauty), and appointing Stéphane Rinderknech as new division head, luxury group LVMH has announced the appointment of Philippe Farnier to the post of global executive vice-president of Parfums Christian Dior.

Farnier previously served as CEO of travel retail within LVMH’s beauty division, a position he retains for the time being. In his new role, Farnier will oversee Parfums Christian Dior's various regional markets and the travel retail channel, reporting to Véronique Courtois, the former president of Guerlain, who was appointed CEO of Parfums Christian Dior at the beginning of March.

Farnier’s appointment follows the departure of Bruno Angibeau, the former international director of Parfums Christian Dior, who left LVMH.

Farnier spent the early part of his career at Mondelez International, a US agri-food giant, and then at Heineken. In 2003, he joined Yves Saint Laurent Beauty as head of sales, and was appointed managing director France in 2005. 

In 2008, he joined the LVMH group as managing director France of Parfums Christian Dior, and in 2013 he was promoted to the post of managing director travel retail EMEA. In 2015, he joined Rémy Cointreau, first as CEO of the group’s US subsidiary, then, in 2018, as head of the Rémy Martin cognac brand.

In April 2022, he was named CEO of travel retail for LVMH’s beauty division.
