Notonthehighstreet appoints new CTO

Published
Oct 8, 2018

Online marketplace Notonthehighstreet has announced that Richard Zubrik will join its team as new chief technology officer in January 2019.

Notonthehighstreet

He was most recently e-commerce director at Asos, where he was responsible for every element of the fashion store’s services and systems. Under his leadership, a team of experts developed and deployed new microservices to replace Asos’ legacy systems, launching desktop, mobile app and native app experiences.

This expertise will be used to develop and scale the technical functionality of Notonthehighstreet, which sells fashion, accessories and gifts from small UK-based creative businesses, to ensure it provides a strong customer experience.

Prior to Asos, Zubrik spent seven years at Tesco, most recently as head of technology.

“Richard’s background and experience delivering world-class customer experiences at organisations with similar ecommerce needs to ours at Notonthehighstreet made him a stand-out candidate,” said Barrie Seidenberg, CEO of Notonthehighstreet.

“Technology is a key driver for our future success. Richard demonstrated that he had the expertise and leadership ability, as well as the technical skills, to help us modernise our platform and ensure it reflects best practice ecommerce. We’re looking forward to welcoming Richard to the team in the New Year.”

Zubrik added: “Notonthehighstreet has a complex legacy system which is ripe for innovation. I am looking forward to working with the team to develop and scale the platform so that it not only offers an outstanding and engaging experience for Notonthehighstreet’s customers, but that it also provides the functionality and systems needed to allow Partners to fulfil their businesses’ potential.”

Zubrik will succeed interim CTO Jack Bolles, who will continue to work with the company in the run up to Christmas to ensure a smooth transition.
