Nippon Express to acquire fashion logistics firm Traconf

Published
Mar 8, 2018

Nippon Express Co. Ltd.’s subsidiary Nippon Express Europe GmbH will acquire the entire equity interests of the luxury fashion related logistics service provider Traconf for 19 billion yen as agreed (with a SPA) on March 6. The actual acquisition is scheduled for the end of March.

Visual from the Traconf website

Traconf, which is based in Verona, Italy, operates logistics services in the high end fashion and lifestyle industries in Europe (mainly Italy), the United States, and China. Nippon Express is currently focusing on investing heavily to enhance its network in various regions with a high potential for growth. In 2013, the company acquired Franco Vago S.p.A. (“Franco Vago”) which is a Florence based forwarding service provider specialising on high end fashion brands. This allowed Nippon Express to form a strong foundation for logistics services in the apparel industry.

Through making Traconf a subsidiary of Nippon Express, both Traconf and Franco Vago will be able to access each other’s customers through mutual collaboration. The deal will also allow the business to provide non-stop integrated logistics services comprising international transportation, product warehousing, and delivery to market.
