New Matter makes 3D printing accessible

New Matter recently announced that its newest 3D printer, the MOD-t, is available for purchase for $399 on the company’s website. These printers enable people to create 3D objects from 3D designs through a process where layers of material are laid down on top of each other until the object has been created.

3D printing is used by multiple sectors, but has been increasingly leveraged in fashion by designers including Iris van Herpen, Francis Bitoni and Michael Smith to design apparel, footwear, jewelry and accessories.
 
Prior to the MOD-t, 3D printers ranged in price from $1100 USD upwards and were used primarily by companies and manufacturers. At the new price point, New Matter has provided great access to artists, designers, scientists and others to leverage this technology. "We have created a 3D printing experience that everyone can enjoy," says Steve Schell, CEO and co-founder of New Matter.

"We accomplished our goal of simplifying the 3D printing process by creating an easy-to-use 3D printer and an integrated 3D design marketplace.
