Net-A-Porter launches incubator for emerging brands

Published
Aug 30, 2018

Net-A-Porter is putting the full weight of its expertise in the luxury world behind a new designer support project called The Vanguard, which is launching on 6 September.

Net-a-Porter

The programme is essentially a fashion business accelerator that will aim to help the best emerging brands develop their business strategies and achieve long-term growth.

The line-up of brands will be selected by an expert team of Net-A-Porter buyers each season, putting particular focus on brands who they predict will make a lasting impression on the future fashion landscape.

Up to four designers will be able to participate in the mentorship programme, which will cover areas such as buying, business strategy, Marketing & PR, social media, tech and advice on entering new markets and territories with advice from the luxury e-tailer’s global team of specialists.

The inaugural Autumn/Winter 2018 season will see Les Reveries, RŪH, Gu_de and Martinez receive guidance and training as part of The Vanguard.

Net-a-Porter’s latest project reinforces its commitment to educating and nurturing young talent as outlined in Yoox Net-a-Porter’s Five Year Plan. The group has created several initiatives to help designers over the years, including a Yoox fashion talent scouting programme in 2004, the Next Talents project with Vogue Italia in 2011 and the YooxGen awards.
