Moss Bros to launch private appointments as 'new normal' sees new ideas
As retailers adapt to the new normal, extra hygiene measures aren't the only actions they’re taking. Some are opting for an injection of new technology and others are looking back to ideas from the past that could work well in a socially distanced world.
Moss Bros has chosen the latter option and is one of a number of retailers launching one-to-one in-store appointments as it starts to open its shops again this month.
Private appointments are proving popular with upscale retailers and as the Moss Bros offer features plenty of formalwear with a mix of premium and high-end labels (such as Ermenegildo Zegna Cloth and Hugo by Hugo Boss), one-to-one sessions make sense.
Customers will have the option to book an appointment and avoid any queues. These appointments can be looked online and are free of charge with no purchase obligation.
The company will start to reopen on June 15, opening 16 stores in locations that offer plenty of parking space. More than half of its 128 UK stores will be open by June 22 with safety features such as till screens, card-only payment, hand sanitiser, plus steam-cleaning and 24-hour quarantine for returned items.
CEO Brian Brick said: “We are delighted to confirm our phased store reopening programme and also launch private appointments, which will enable us to style customers in a way that will give them confidence and security and will also help us manage the planning of our stores,
