Milan overflowing with fragrances with Esxence – The Scent of Excellence

Published
Apr 1, 2009

The French call perfume creation a ‘niche’, the Italians have dubbed it an ‘art’. From 2-5 April Milan will pay homage to perfume and host the first edition of the tradeshow for professionals “Esxence – The Scent of Excellence”. 85 brands will be present, including the biggest names in the business.

First of its kind, the event was brainchild of Celso Fadelli and Silvio Levi, it will bring together perfumers from all over. Italians, French and even English companies have answered the call, amongst which can be found: Parfumerie Générale, Lorenzo Villoresi, Miller Harris, Creed, Etro, Eau d’Italie, Esteban, Parfums d’Orsay and Juliette Has a Gun. Prestigious exhibitors will be presenting their know-how as well as their new fragrances to buyers and distributors.

From here on in, the tradeshow wants to focus on a new manner of international distribution for perfumes by their creators. In spite of a quasi-saturation of the general perfume market, or launches by large chain stores each year, this one, the ‘niche’, has distinguished itself in its attempt to appeal to a particular part of the market’s clientele. Scent “à la carte”, traditional compositions or even natural fragrances, the show will house artistically created and developed fragrances.

Over 4 days at the Spazio Della Pelota, Via Palermo in Milan, clients and producers alike will arrive to meet distributors and buyers and present their olfactory works. Press points and discovery workshops are also expected.
