McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands opens three new stores

Published

Barbour, Under Armour and Molton Brown have signed up to open new stores at McArthurGlen’s East Midlands Designer Outlet.

British luxury and lifestyle brand Barbour will open at the outlet centre this Friday, followed by London’s fragrance, bath and body expert Molton Brown in September.

American sportswear brand Under Armour will join the retail mix in November.

The signings come at a time of significant disruption in the UK retail sector, caused by cautious consumer spending and an acceleration towards e-commerce.

David Jackson, centre manager at McArthurGlen commented: “In the current climate, we’re thrilled to be welcoming three prestigious new stores to the centre. All three brand partners have a unique product offering and an established reputation which will attract guests.

“We are committed to growing our retail offering and will continue to offer exciting brands to our loyal guests to further elevate the premium fashion and lifestyle choices available.”

The designer outlet has implemented many measures to keep staff and visitors safe during the Covid-19 outbreak, including increased cleaning in public areas and hand sanitiser stations.

Additionally, a number of restaurants and cafes like Wagamama, Pizza Express and Starbucks are taking part in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which offers a 50% discount on food and non-alcoholic drinks.
