Change at the top for Maison Margiela. The OTB-owned French label has announced the appointment of Gaetano Sciuto as its new CEO, and of Stefano Rosso as president. Both will report to the OTB group's CEO, Ubaldo Minelli.

Gaetano Sciuto and Stefano Rosso - OTB

Sciuto will start in his new role on July 17, replacing Gianfranco Gianangeli, who has left the company by mutual agreement to take on a new professional challenge.

Stefano Rosso, a member of OTB’s board and the CEO of Brave Virtual Xperience, was appointed president in May, taking over from his father Renzo, who had held the post since 2002, when Maison Margiela was bought by OTB.

“It will be a huge responsibility for Stefano, this appointment marks a major milestone in his career progression. Stefano’s new role and Gaetano's arrival will be crucial in boosting the labels’ potential, taking it to the next level in its expansion,” said Renzo Rosso, president of OTB.

“We are delighted to welcome Stefano as president of Maison Margiela, and to receive Gaetano within the OTB group. He is a vastly experienced luxury industry executive. I would like to thank Gianfranco for his work in the last few years,” said Minelli.

Sciuto has a business economics degree from Bocconi University in Milan, and has worked in fashion and luxury for over 30 years. He joins Maison Margiela after a stint as CEO of Giorgio Armani Americas. He previously held a number of senior posts at Fendi, where he was president Americas and head of global licenses and accessories.

Besides Maison Margiela, Renzo Rosso's OTB group owns labels like Diesel, Jil Sander, Marni and Viktor & Rolf. The group has over 6,000 employees worldwide, and in 2022 it recorded a revenue of €1.7 billion. OTB also controls Staff International and Brave Kid, and owns a stake in US denim label Amiri.
