Mackintosh, Alyx and Nick Knight collaborate on coat

Scottish outerwear brand Mackintosh, Alyx and photographer Nick Knight have launched a collaborative coat, which will be available for purchase only at Mackintosh's London flagship. Each jacket is a limited edition numbered 1 through 10, and marks an ongoing collaboration between Mackintosh and Alyx. 

The unisex coats are made with Mackintosh rubberized cotton, and feature a painted image by Nick Knight on the garment's back panel. In a press release, Knight explained that these images are "photo paintings, which are created when I paint with water on light sensitive material." 

Additional features of the coats include interior and exterior taped seams and side vents, as well as Alyx zippers and removable zipper tips. 

 "The collaboration with Mackintosh as well as those with Nick Knight have been ongoing relationships," said Matthew Williams, Alyx creative director. "To bring all together for this collaboration has resulted in a beautiful product that I am so happy to present." 

Earlier this year, the outerwear company and Alyx collaborated on a collection of coats, belts and bags. Alyx's hardware-heavy accessories have made noteworthy fans of rappers Skepta and A$AP Rocky. 

Mackintosh opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Mayfair, London in 2011.
