Lee names Betty Madden as vice president, global head of design

Lee, the Greensboro, North Carolina-based denim brand, has announced the direction of Betty Madden as vice president, global head of design.

The appointment was effective as of December of 2018, a representative for the brand confirmed to FashionNetwork.com. 

Prior to joining Lee, Madden founded and served as the creative director of New Arc City, a creative agency.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Madden has experience creating, reimagining and building brands, working in both luxury and mainstream apparel design across women’s, men’s, kid's, sport, footwear, accessories, intimates and beauty.

Previously, Madden has held design and creative direction positions with Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, Nike, Aerie and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Lee operates as a subsidiary of Kontoor Brands Inc., the sister company of VF Corporation that acts as the parent company to Wrangler, Lee and Rock & Republic, as well as the VF Outlet business.

VF Corporation first announced the planned separation of its denim business into an independent, publicly traded company in August of 2018, releasing a strategy update in April of 2019.
