LVMH gets closer to young talent via student program

In January, Bernard Arnault's group launched a new format for its "Inside LVMH" program, an online platform accessible to students from 50 schools in six European countries. It was launched to familiarize students with the luxury fashion group and to provide them with a deeper understanding of the strategic challenges of the luxury industry, through video tutorials designed internally, but also by teachers. Students had the opportunity to present their own projects around the theme 'The Luxury Experience of Tomorrow', in an effort to stand out.

Over four months, the experience “based on the mutual enrichment of the ideas of the students – representing the millennial generation – and of the Group’s Top Managers”, was accessed by 4,448 students. Of these students, 200 of them, separated into 50 teams selected by the Inside LVMH community, had the opportunity to present their project at a closing ceremony, on May 3.

The luxury group's number one goal was not only to show the students its inner workings, but also and especially to detect potential future talent. A jury made up of the group's top managers rewarded the three most "ground-breaking" ideas. The Institut Français de la Mode team, the ESADE Ramon Llull University team, and Berluteam (a team of Berluti interns), won the first, second and third prizes, respectively.

These three teams were able to present their work in front of all the guests, which, aside from the other students, also included the managers and key figures from several LVMH-owned fashion houses. The opportunity has allowed many of the students to land internships and given LVMH the opportunity o increase its brand image among young people, as its Inside program was shared throughout its duration on social media via participating schools.
