Jodie Soussan to lead Canterbury & Mitre as global brand director

Published

Pentland has revealed another management change with the announcement that Jodie Soussan has been promoted to global brand director for its Canterbury and Mitre brands.

Canterbury

She replaces Charlotte Cox, who has been recently appointed to the Pentland Brands executive team as president EMEA.

The retail group behind some of the UK’s best known sports brands including Speedo, Berghaus and Endura is undergoing a strategic review of its global structure in order to secure its future.

Recent changes have included the move of CEO Andy Long to Pentland Group Limited and the appointment of Chirag Patel as new chief executive officer. Boxfresh, the group’s sneaker brand, has been paused and 350 jobs have been cut.

Jodie Soussan, the new brand director of Canterbury and Mitre, has been tasked with identifying consumer growth opportunities. She joined the group in 2018 as commercial strategy director and since then, she has led the teams responsible for commercial strategy & planning, market intelligence and commercial excellence in successfully delivering the go-to-market strategies and plans across the portfolio.

Her background includes a number of years working within the FMCG sector for the likes of Procter & Gamble and Jordans Dorset & Ryvita (owned by Primark parent Associated British Foods).

Chirag Patel said: “Jodie has a wealth of commercial and brand-building experience and she joins a great team. Canterbury and Mitre are respected brands within their categories and Jodie will lead them in creating irresistible products and compelling brand propositions that will deliver sustainable and profitable growth.”

Jodie Soussan added: “It’s a really energising time to be joining the Canterbury and Mitre team. Our collective goal will be to get our products to more consumers by focusing on getting more people, from all backgrounds, involved in rugby and football, especially at the grass roots level.”
