Jacquemus illustrates new collection with a painting

Simon Porte Jacquemus brought originality to his label's spring/summer 2019 campaign, switching the traditional fashion photo shoot for a bespoke painting. The new collection's designs are illustrated by the New-York-based Canadian artist, Chloe Wise.

The Jacquemus spring/summer 2019 campaign is a work of art -- literally. The brand's founder and creative director, Simon Porte Jacquemus, called on the artist Chloe Wise to illustrate his new collection. Unusually, for the fashion world, the campaign takes the form of a bespoke painting showing off the season's ready-to-wear designs and accessories.

A first visual shared on the Jacquemus Instagram shows two women enjoying a drink on a sun-soaked terrace facing the Mediterranean sea. The artwork nods to the Jacquemus  "La Riviera" collection, inspired by the French designer's home region.

The two women wear swimwear and ready-to-wear pieces from the Jacquemus spring/summer 2019 collection, as well as a series of accessories, including the now iconic mini-bags which went down a storm at the brand's September fashion show.
