IMATS to hit Atlanta in November

The International Make-Up Artists Trade Show (IMATS) comes to Atlanta, Georgia for the first time in November 2018, offering talks and demonstrations from industry experts, as well as competitions and opportunities to network and shop discounted products.

Confirmed speakers for the event currently include Oprah’s personal make-up artist Derrick Rutledge, as well as other beauty experts such as Danessa Myricks Beauty, Denise and Janice Tunnell, DeShawn Hatcher, and Sam Fine, with more set to be announced in the future.
 
Experts in runway, editorial, film and TV make-up, including Romero Jennings, Joel Harlow, Jonah Levy, Matthew Silva, Mimi Choi, Saj Mack, Siân Richards and Stephanie Anderson, will also be on hand to demonstrate their skills and dispense career advice.

As part of the trade show, Atlanta will host the latest edition of IMATS’ “Battle of the Brushes” competition, giving international make-up students the chance to win cash and other prizes. This year’s themes are “Wildwood Warrior” for the beauty/fantasy category and “Victorian Emporium” for the competition’s character make-up segment.
 
The trade show is held annually in Los Angeles, New York, London, Toronto, and Vancouver, and has been running for over twenty years, establishing a reputation as one of the world’s biggest celebrations of make-up artistry.
 
IMATS Atlanta is slated to take place at the Georgia World Congress Center on November 17 and 18, 2018. This year’s sponsors are Kryolan Professional Make-up and NYX Professional Makeup.
