On Saturday, the Brazilian flip-flop brand will open a pop-up shop on the Santa Monica Pier in California made entirely of ice. The store will remain open until the structure melts.
Though the display won’t actually sell any sandals, Havaianas will give a pair of free shoes to the first 100 guests. Visitors to the massive ice store will also receive a snow cone, made directly from ice shaved from the structure itself and topped with syrup.
The pop-up store will remain open from noon until 6pm on Saturday – if it lasts that long. Beyond the first 100 guests, no shoes will be sold, though visitors can take a glimpse at the Havaianas styles on display.
This isn’t the first pop-up from the Brazilian brand for the 2017 summer season. Havaianas recently opened a pop-up shop in the U.K., at the Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester. This is the second year in a row the shoe brand has staged a pop-up in Highcross. Havaianas also staged a similar pop-up shop made of ice at the lawn of Miami Beach’s W hotel.
The Brazilian brand has permanent stores throughout California, including shops at the Los Angeles Farmers Market, Huntington Beach and Topanga Mall.
