Graduate Fashion Week unveils schedule, names new ambassador

Published
Jun 13, 2022

Graduate Fashion Foundation (GFF) has announced the full physical and digital event schedule for Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) 2022, including its first live catwalk shows since 2019.

New Graduate Fashion Week Ambassador Munroe Bergdorf

The world’s largest showcase of BA Fashion talent is set to take place across 20-24 June at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross, London.

The week will begin with a ‘VIP Opening Night Catwalk’ event featuring the work from the Foundation’s 40 UK Member Universities, curated and hosted by GFF ambassadors Henry Holland, Patrick McDowell and are joined by new GFW Ambassador Munroe Bergdorf.

GFW will stage 15 catwalk shows featuring the work from 25 universities. Running alongside the catwalk will be a series of events held within the GFW Dome presentation space that will feature work from an additional four universities.

Once again Samsung KX will also play host to a series of GFW Live! talks with 10 talks throughout the week from major fashion names including Nadja Swarovski, Teatum Jones and Jimmy Choo.

The event will also feature an exhibition of work from its 40 UK Member Universities as well as a Retail Trail with graduate work being showcased in stores across Coal Drops Yard, including Tom Dixon, Fred Perry and Cos.

Also fully embracing digital, GFW’s website will showcase all live stream event content, including all runway shows, GFWLIVE! industry talks, and exclusively hosting the 37 creative university fashion films. Users can also interact with the content via live chat.

Meanwhile, model and activist Bergdorf said of her new appointment as GFW Ambassador: “I'm a great admirer of the creative and unique designs that these future fashion leaders create and I'm always mindful to support them as much as possible by wearing their clothes on shoots and red carpets. I can’t wait to see what this years’ cohort bring to the runway, I’m sure they will continue to amaze us with their inspirational ideas and groundbreaking work.”
