Fashion Designer Manish Arora will launch a fragrance with Designer Parfums

Published

Indian designer Manish Arora will be taking his brand to the fragrance world. In partnership with Designer Parfum, Arora will create his first perfume, slated to launch in 2018.

Designer Manish Arora will now apply his fashion sensibilities to the world of fragrances.

Of his foray into the fragrance world, Arora said, “Fragrances are part of my world and of my culture. They contribute to make life beautiful and this is my credo in everything I am doing. The process of creating the fragrance has been a beautiful journey and I look forward sharing it with everyone soon!”

Designer Parfums, which works with brands and celebrities such as Jean Louis Scherrer, Naomi Campbell and Jennifer Lopez, says the partnership marks a turning point for Arora and will help the company strengthen its portfolio. “Manish Arora is one of those rare talents who manages to see the potential of authentic Indian beauty and turn it into a contemporary and universal artistic vision,” Dilesh Mehta, CEO of Designer Parfums, said in a statement.

Arora launched his label in 1997, and has shown his line at both London and Paris Fashion Week. The designer joined the “Federation of Prêt à Porter” in 2007 and more recently received positive reviews for his collection shown at Paris Fashion Week in March. The line is sold at stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, in addition to its flagship store in Paris. Manish Arora will open a second flagship store in Beijing later this year.

Arora previously created a limited edition makeup collection for MAC, in addition to collaborations with other brands. From 2011 to 2012, he was also the creative director of womenswear for Paco Rabanne.

Designer Parfums has not stated what notes or style the fragrance will take, but Arora is known for drawing inspiration from his Indian culture in his designs, and particularly his use of the colors pink and gold.
