E. Tautz opens pop-up four months after complaining of high rents

Patrick Grant’s menswear brand E.Tautz is back on the high street after closing its Mayfair shop in July, but only for two weeks.

E. Tautz

A key staple of the London Fashion Week Men, the label has opened a pop-up store in the Pentreath & Hall shop on Rugby Street in Bloomsbury. It  will run until 30 November to showcase the autumn 2018 collection and rare archive pieces.

Each piece is sustainable and produced in the UK, with cotton imported from California and spun in Dukinfield. All products are finished and dyed in Leicester before being cut and sewn in Blackburn, according to GQ.

E. Tautz decided to close its only physical store in the summer due to rising rents and business rates, saying it “no longer makes good business sense to keep our Mayfair store open”.

Instead, the label has been focusing on growing its number of stockists and boosting its online channel. It is currently stocked in retailers in Spain, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Denmark in Europe, as well Canada, Dubai, Japan and China. A selection of E. Tautz designs are also available online on Farfetch and Thread.
