Christian Dior acquires new perfume production site in France

Christian Dior Parfums has boosted its production capacity in France. At the beginning of the year, the luxury label owned by the LVMH group acquired an industrial site located in Chartres, France, which will be dedicated to the development of the Maison Christian Dior collections (fragrances, skincare and perfumed candles), available exclusively at the label’s beauty boutiques. The plant was previously owned by Korean cosmetics group Amore Pacific, but was facing difficulties after the group lost the licence for Lolita Lempicka perfumes at the end of 2016.

“We have been negotiating the project with the Korean group for several months. While the acquisition is official since the beginning of the year, we have already carried out some renovation work on the factory, notably on the illumination and flooring,” said Jean-Dominique Bosq, director of operations at Parfums Christian Dior, speaking to French newspaper La République du Centre.

The factory in Chartres, previously called Pacific Création, is the second production site for the Maison Christian Dior lines in France besides the long-established one at Saint-Jean-de-Braye, which has reached saturation. Christian Dior Parfums have taken on all of the new factory’s current employees, about 50 people, after retraining them. The Chartres plant is expected to eventually employ 300 people.
