Chanel: Kristen Stewart plays Coco Chanel for Karl Lagerfeld

A Maison Chanel icon since 2014, US actress Kristen Stewart is once again Karl Lagerfeld's muse, playing Gabrielle Chanel's role in a short film written and directed by the French fashion house's creative director. 

In the film, to be unveiled on December 1st at Rome's Métiers d’Art fashion shows, Karl Lagerfeld tells the backstage story of the preparation for a biopic about the brand's creation.
 
Kristen Stewart plays the role of an actress selected to feature as the famous Gabrielle, aka Coco Chanel. According to the director, the actress' performance is uncompromising.

"She plays a very mean Coco Chanel. She complains about everyone and everything. She's fiendish with the director, and with the producer."
 
Shot in just two days at Luc Besson's studios in Paris' Cinema City, this biopic joins the long list of films already produced on the subject, such as e.g. 'Coco Before Chanel' or 'Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky" .
