L'Oreal Paris has revealed the names of the finalists for its first international make-up competition, set to take place against the Cannes Film Festival this May.

The Brush Contest will see 12 world-class make-up artists go head to head for the top prize during the Festival. Hosted by actress Eva Longoria, the grand final will see the competitors work with L'Oreal Paris muses and spokesmodels including Doutzen Kroes, Karlie Kloss, Barbara Palvin, Soo-Joo Park and Lara Stone.

Filmed from May 17-20 in Cannes at the Hotel Martinez, the competition will then be played out in a series of episodes broadcast on the L'Oreal Paris YouTube channel from June 10, with the final winner revealed on June 18.

The artists are competing for the title of "Maquilleur Expert" or "Expert make-up artist" for the brand -- a title that comes with a year-long L'Oreal Paris contract worth €100,000.

The finalists include Vivianne Tran for Australia, whose specialities include "color clash" make-up, and Caitlyn Dixon for Canada, known for her high-octane glamour looks.

Also on show at the event will be Alexandra Lederer for Germany, whose finalist video shows her creating a stunning multi-colored eye, Paula Sorora for Spain, and Jie Yang for China.

Malaysia's Jamie Tan Hui Fen and Turkey's Muesser Sumer are also big fans of the bold, iridescent eye. The US will be represented by Jeannie Giannone, while Dublin-based artist Emma Farrell will fly the flag for the UK. Thailand will also be represented in the competition. France's own competitor Salina El Aliani will be present, having made the grade at the national finals and impressed a judging panel that included Ines de la Fressange.
