High-end performance outerwear brand Canada Goose is set to open its first flagship store in Germany in Berlin in November. The new outpost will be the fourth for the brand in Europe, joining spaces in London, Milan and Paris.

Canada Goose

“Germany has played an important role in the story of Canada Goose. This brand was built in Europe through our exposition at so many of the country’s incredible trade shows over our early years and we’re so happy to return now with our first German store,” said Dani Reiss, President & CEO of Canada Goose. “And, Berlin itself has always had a special place in my heart. The vibrancy of its people and the importance of art to Berlin’s identity makes it truly one of the world’s most unique cities, always on the cutting edge of culture. I’m proud of our newest European store in Berlin, in the heart of its famed shopping district on the Kurfürstendamm.”

Berlin is world-famous for its fashion, art and music scene, as well as its growing start-up economy. The two-storey Canada Goose flagship store will be located on one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations, a destination for both German consumers and tourists.

According to the brand, the shop marries Canadian and German design elements through a symbiosis of creativity and style, featuring a carefully curated aesthetic. From wood and marble accents to clean lines, the store will be the first in the world to showcase a “biodimensional” installation. Bringing the outside in, the unique wall space captures the light and other elements.

Another key highlight will be a permanent art exhibition. On display will be selected works by Canadian and Inuit artists, with stories of northern Canada at the centre of their creations. The artworks will focus on Arctic and German textiles and how they represent the fusion of the two worlds. Artists include Shuvinai Ashoona, who works primarily in drawing, and Ottawa-born painter Patrick Thompson. Berlin-based artist Shannon Bool will create a sculpture inspired by Canada Goose’ signature Snow Mantra Parka.
