Atterley's Byrne becomes co-CEO after four months at label

Online fashion destination Atterley now has two CEOs. Kelly Byrne has been promoted to co-lead at the Edinburgh-based business.

She moves up from chief growth officer, a post she only took up in January since joining from Boohoo’s Nasty Gal, to work alongside current long-standing CEO Kenny Baillie.

She was previously commercial director at Nasty Gal since 2018 and has also held senior roles at the wider group, including head of both UK and international marketing operations.

In her new role at Atterley, Byrne will “drive growth and expansion for the business as it scales”. She will also help set “business priorities and being responsible for progression”.

Chairman Mike Welch said: “As Atterley progresses and grows, it felt the natural next step to balance our tier one leadership with Kenny and Kelly bringing completely different, yet complementary skill sets to the table.

“With the two of them at the helm, I am even more confident in what Atterley can deliver in the coming months and years.”

Byrne added: “Since joining the business… I have been hugely impressed at the growth trajectory and Atterley’s future prospects. Kenny is a fantastic leader and I am excited to work side by side with him, as we expand Atterley together.”

Last year, Atterley secured an additional £3 million in new funding to expand the business internationally, with a particular focus on the US.

The business enjoyed strong growth during the pandemic and the retailer is continuing to build on that success that saw sales grow 200% in its Q1 trading period.
