And the winners are… well, there are 10 names chosen for the top Fashion/Accessories/Textiles category awards in the third annual Global Design Graduate Show, organised by digital platform for emerging artists & designers Arts Thread in collaboration with Gucci.

Shirel Abergel - Global Design Graduate Show 2022

The Womenswear award went to Dominika Grzybek, Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp: Menswear winner was Archie Hammond, Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne; the Sport & Denim winner was Emily Clarke, Kingston School of Art, London; the Sustainable Fashion/Textiles award was won by Padina Bonder, Parsons School of Design, New York; the Genderless winner was Shirel Abergel, The NB Haifa School of Design; the Fashion Communication prize went to Josefina Maiza, IED Istituto Europeo di Design, Madrid; the Accessories prize was won by Erin Yang, Royal College of Art, London; the top prize for Textiles-Print/Embroidery went to Camila Barrero, UPC Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima; and the Textiles - Knit/Weave award was picked up by Pauline Dujancourt, Central Saint Martins UAL, London.

The winner of the Fashion award chosen by the public was fashion, accessories and textiles student Lyu Danlei from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

This year’s event saw as many as 5,489 students entering across four main categories (Fashion/Accessories/Textiles; Fine Art/Photography/Craft; Product Design/Architecture/Interiors; and Digital/Visual Communication/Film) with 500 shortlisted, surpassing the number of entries from 2021 and 2020. That makes it the biggest online showcase of graduating artists and designers worldwide, Arts Thread said.
