Alvanon, a global apparel business and product development consultancy, has announced that Alvanon president and global fashion business authority, Ed Gribbin, will join a distinguished panel of industry experts to explore “How is 3D set to disrupt the fashion apparel industry?” at Product Innovation Apparel 2016, held from October 5 to 6, 2016, in, Germany.

Joining Gribbin on the panel will be industry-leading 3D technology experts from CLO Virtual Fashion, Gerber Technology, Human Solutions, and Lectra to discuss issues ranging from “Who should the users of 3D be within the fashion organisation?” to “What can we expect from an apparel company who have successfully adopted 3D in 5 years time?”

Gribbin said, “We need to break away from outdated processes and put technology to work in ways that enhance product development, improve fit and accelerate speed to market. 3D technologies have the potential to reshape the way the industry does business, though their full effects may not be felt for cycles to come. Attendees to the panel will leave with a better understanding of how fashion companies can better engage their customers and build competitive advantage by utilising 3D tools.”

Alvanon will also be part of Product Innovation Apparel 2016 in the focus group ‘From Calculating Accurate Standard Body Measurements to a More Consumer-Centric Approach to Production Creation’ led by G-Star RAW, a long-standing urban clothing company.
