Alexander Wang returns to the runway April 19

Acclaimed American designer Alexander Wang is making his return to the runway, on April 19.

Dubbed 'Fortune City', the show will debut Wang’s Fall 2022 collection, which is expected to celebrate his Chinese-American heritage. The show will be hosted in partnership with the historic preservation site organization Chinatown Corporation and will take place in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. 

The runway presentation marks Wang’s first show since 2019, after sexual assault allegations forced him to take a two-year hiatus. The accusations included a statement from model Owen Mooney, who said in a series of TikTok videos that Wang groped his genitals at a New York nightclub in 2017. Other allegations claim that Wang drugged people. The designer has denied accusations of sexual assault claims in multiple statements. 

For his latest campaign, Wang hired China’s favorite model, Liang Xiaoqing, as his new muse. He has also continued to collaborate with celebrities, most recently dressing the likes of Rihanna and Julia Fox.
