Alexander McQueen opens men’s store on Savile Row

Published
Oct 26, 2012

Alexander McQueen recently opened it’s first menswear store on Savile Row. Designed by architects at David Collins, who created the concept Alexander McQueen women’s store and the McQ boutique on Dover Street, the store offers ready-to-wear, accessories and leather goods and is looking to extend a tailoring service to its customers. The underground level of the store will become home to q collaboration with the tailor Huntsman. “We’re really going back to the roots of Alexander McQueen,” said Sarah Burton, creative director. “Lee himself was an apprentice on Savile Row and tailoring has always been the backbone of the label."

The men’s collection will show for the first time at ‘London Collections: Men’ in January, leaving its roots at Milan Fashion Week where it has shown since it was created in 2004.

Next on the agenda could be a Paris flagship, after CEO Jonathan Akeroyd made no secret that Paris was high up on the international expansion list.
