Triumph-owned bodywear brand Sloggi has named Alex Cara as its new General Manager Cluster North, which takes in the UK, Nordic countries and Benelux.

Most recently, Cara held the position of Senior Vice President at the Pandora Group in Copenhagen, and has previously worked for Nike, Espirit and New Look in various global and senior positions.

Joining the company on September 4, he has 30 years experience in business retail having worked in various countries across Europe. At Nike he was the Retail Director for Nike Central & EMEA.

While at Pandora he managed over 1,000 stores in 39 countries for the jewellery firm.

He will be based in Sloggi’s London headquarters and the company said that his strong track record in developing people across functions, and his “robust retail and e-commerce expertise will be perfectly placed to drive Sloggi’s aggressive growth plans in the North Cluster over the next year and beyond.”

Cara said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the Sloggi brand, with the new brand vision and strategy ramping up in 2018 and several global launches of new product innovations in the pipeline.”

Launched in 1979, the brand is the best-selling briefs brand in Europe and also offers a wider intimates line and swimwear for women and men in both Europe and Asia.
