SMCP continues expansion in the Americas with new Maje flagship in NYC

Published
Oct 9, 2018

As part of its selective expansion strategy in the Americas, Parisian fashion group SMCP announced the opening of a new flagship boutique for its Maje brand in Midtown Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center on Tuesday.

SMCP is currently present in 28 cities in the region - Instagram: @majeofficiel

The new store, the group’s 162nd point of sale in the region, has a unique design concept built around pink onyx marble, Carrera marble, brass features and a gold leaf wall perimeter, all of which seeks to reflect the boutique’s iconic surroundings.

The announcement of the new location precedes a string of upcoming store openings for Sandro and Maje in the US, including boutiques in Austin, Houston and Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace.

SMCP first expanded into the Americas in 2011 and has seen strong growth in the region, reporting a 28.3% constant-currencies increase in sales in the first half of fiscal 2018. This progress has been pushed by strong performances in both the group’s brick-and-mortar and digital channels, with over 25% of the company’s e-commerce sales in H1 2018 coming from the region.

Moving forward with its expansion in the market, the group, which now operates in 38 cities in the Americas, will be looking to double down on customer service, offering personalized styling appointments, same-day delivery and exclusive VIP client events at selected Sandro and Maje locations.

Products from SMCP’s three brands – Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot – are currently available in 1,300 points of sale spread over 39 countries.
