Première Vision Paris wraps up, more than 56,000 attend

The Parisian textile trade show, which took place February 7-9 at Parc des Expositions in Villepint, capped off its spring/summer 2018 edition with the announcement that 56,250 visitors were in attendance, up 2.3%.

With 73% of attendees being foreign, Italy was the most represented at the tradeshow with 6,488 visitors (+2.7%) ahead of the UK, whose visitor number fell to 6,097. Spain attendance came in next (+8%), thenTurkey (+4%), followed by Germany, the U.S., Japan (+27%), and Belgium and The Netherlands. Organisers also reported an increase in numbers from Portugal (+6%) and South Korea (+19%). Russia would have doubled its presence, said organisers, while China also increased.

"In a complex and changing global context, this positive performance reflects the attractiveness and solidity of Première Vision Paris," said the organiser.

"Driven by a creative and selective offering, innovative and inspirational information and the effectiveness of an event that unpacks industries and the synergies among professions, this latest edition also owes its success to a program particularly rich in newness and innovations."

In February 2016, last year's edition failed to fend off the attendance drop which affected the Paris tradeshows following the attacks in France, with 55,025 visitors (-5.85 %) attending the event, and 1,725 exhibitors.

The next edition of Première Vision Paris will take place September 19-21. From here, Première Vision Istanbul will kick off March 22-24, then Première Vision New York July 18-19, following Première Vision New York Designs -- the event entirely dedicated to textile design -- held April 18 and 19.

Denim Première Vision will be held April 26 and 27 at the Paris Event Centre, while the tradeshow dedicated to pre-collections, Blossom, will roll out in Paris next July.
