Despite the German fashion industry struggling to remain profitable, with retail sales falling on average by 2% in 2016, exhibitors and visitors were feeling positive at Panorama Berlin, said event organisers in a press release

The restructuring of the shoe and accessories areas in halls 5 and 6 was well received, as were the extension of plus-size segment Hipstar and the innovative mix of products in the new Nova Concept in hall 9. Additionally, visitors responded well to the launch of a new lingerie hall in 7C which complimented the product portfolio at the trade show, expanding its footprint to more than 800 exhibitors over 538,000 sq ft of space.

“We are aware of the challenging retail environment and have prepared ourselves for it. This season we have placed an increased focus on the retailers and presented a host of inspiration and trend talks, as well as various retail-specific seminars. We are optimistic that the current market situation will strengthen the exchange between visitors and exhibitors and thus strengthen the community spirit,” said Panorama CEO Jörg Wichmann.

The second day of the event saw visitor turnout rise to unexpected levels, said Panorama Berlin which did not provide the exact number but said it was a “significant” improvement on the previous edition. In the afternoon all the galleries at the exhibition site were busy with hundreds of visitors from 96 countries, leaving exhibitors satisfied with the show.

According to Panorama Berlin, reviews from exhibitors were consistently positive. Mia Fribrog Nielsen, salas manager of Danish brand Blend She said the event was a “very good and international trade show,” while Christian Schütt, managing director of menswear brand Nowadays praised the strong visitor turnout and the quality of the mix. “The day was excellent, we had high quality visitors coming to our stand, which is fantastic!"

Additionally, Xavier Miane, export manager of French brand Jott French Terry commented on his first trade show: "This fair is fantastic, we have won a lot of new customers!"

The next edition of Panorama Berlin is set to take place on 4-6 July with the Spring Summer 2018 collections.
