Pascal Perrier is La Perla’s new CEO. The new man in charge of the Italian luxury lingerie label hails from France, and studied veterinary medicine and agronomy in Toulouse before specialising in international marketing at the HEC business school in Paris. He is tasked with spearheading the growth of the label which was bought last February by Dutch investment company Sapinda.

Pascal Perrier, the new CEO of La Perla - Sapinda

The Amsterdam-based group is keen to give new impetus to La Perla, which was previously owned by Silvio Scaglia’s Pacific Global Management company, and which recently embarked on a diversification strategy designed to turn La Perla into a global luxury brand. Pascal Perrier has a proven luxury industry experience, having worked for thirteen years at Burberry, nine of them as CEO of the Asia-Pacific region, as well as at Balenciaga, Saint Laurent and Céline.

“During his thirteen years at Burberry, Pascal Perrier played a key role in building the Burberry brand, which has a market capitalisation of $11 billion, and whose most important business region is Asia-Pacific,” wrote Sapinda in a press release.

The CEO of Sapinda, Lars Windhorst, also stated: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Pascal Perrier, to usher La Perla into a new growth phase (…) There are few more experienced people that can steer us through these opportunities and take the brand to the next level than [someone with] Pascal Perrier’s luxury and fashion industry influence and expertise.”

Pascal Perrier himself said: “I’m eager to work with Sapinda and La Perla and to expand this company within an industry that is constantly demonstrating a huge growth potential. We will continue to invest in the company, building on the brand’s vision and founding principles. I am also extremely proud of having now become an investor in a corporation with such strong values and heritage.”

To further fuel La Perla’s growth, after its acquisition Sapinda appointed Alessandra Bertuzzi as the lingerie label’s Creative Director. Bertuzzi has worked for more than 28 years at La Perla, and took over from Julia Haart, the Creative Director from May 2016.

Sapinda expects La Perla to grow in all its markets. The Italian label operates 140 monobrand stores worldwide, of which 50% are in the EMEA region, 30% in the Americas and 20% in Asia.
