Kidbox forms second Kids Board of Directors of 12 kids to consult on fashion and social issues

Children's subscription service Kidbox has formed its second Board of Directors of twelve entrepreneurial and philanthropic kids aged 8 through 14 who will consult on fashion business and social issues for the company.

The twelve-member Board will advise the company on kids' style and gain leadership skills in the process. It will also identify new ways for kids to give back in their local communities. Members were selected for their fashion interest as well as for having demonstrated a desire to contribute towards social good.

Children selected for the 2018-19 Board include an 11-year-old March for Our Lives activist from Northern Virginia, an 8-year-old from Ohio who has donated 29 thousand boxes of crayons to young patients at children's hospitals across the country, and a 12-year-old philanthropic fashion designer from NY.

"We created the Kids Board of Directors program before our formal adult Board was formed because we are a brand for children and parents and from the start we wanted to understand what matters to our customers," said Kidbox CEO Miki Berardelli in a release.

"The Board allows us to see the world through a kids' point of view and ensures that children -- the heartbeat of Kidbox -- have their fingerprints all over our brand," he added.

This is the second year of Kidbox's Kids Board, which launched in 2017. The Board will first travel to New York for seminars with two non-profits. They will then collaborate on designing anti-bullying tee shirts that will launch in Kidbox's October deliveries in time for anti-bullying month.

Kidbox was launched two years ago and is backed by a round of Series B VC funding led by Canvas Ventures. The company curates style boxes for children and babies using brands including Splendid, Jessica Simpson and Adidas.
