J.W. Anderson latest label to go for mixed-gender show

After Salvatore Ferragamo and Balenciaga, the most recent labels to go co-ed, it is now the turn of J.W. Anderson to heed the siren song of the mixed-gender show format, presenting the men's and women's collections together in one single event.

"The objective is to cut down the retailers' waiting time between the collections’ presentation and their availability for purchase," told FashionNetwork.com the label designed by Northern Irishman Jonathan Anderson. For this reason, Anderson decided to show during the women's fashion week, which is scheduled a little later in the season than the menswear one.

J.W. Anderson will therefore give the London Men's Fashion Week in January a miss, and will show at the women's fashion week on 17th February, presenting its menswear and womenswear collections for the Autumn/Winter 2018-19.

Jonathan Anderson, 33, who is also the Creative Director of Spanish leather goods label Loewe and was recognised at this year's British Fashion Awards as best accessories designer and best British womenswear designer, joins with his label a long list of brands who chose the co-ed show option, including Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Etro, Dsquared2, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Kenzo and Vetements.
