Indochino opens in Chicago

Published
Jul 17, 2017

Vancouver-based made-to-measure menswear retailer Indochino has officially opened shop in Chicago.

The new showroom is a part of a larger retail expansion the retailer is currently undergoing in North America, which will double its store count to 17 locations by the end of the year.

Located in the city's shopping district at The Shops at North Bridge, the menswear company unveiled its Chicago flagship on Friday.

"Chicago is home to one of our largest online customer bases and has been a top priority for our brick-and-mortar expansion given the results of our data driven showroom expansion methodology," said Drew Green, CEO of Indochino, in a news statement. "Based on internal and external consumer metric analysis we knew we had to put down roots in the Windy City. Having lived in Lincoln Park for many years with my sons Liam and Aidan, this launch is especially meaningful to me. Chicago and its people are incredible."

The 1,333-square-foot showroom features several iMac working stations and showcases shirting customization options and accessories. In store, customers are paired with a Style Guide to take measurements, assist with fabric selection and more.

Earlier this month, Indochino opened a second location in New York. Another location in Washington, DC, and at the King of Prussia Mall outside of Philadelphia, will open later this year.

"This expansion comes at a momentous time in our history. After a decade of pioneering and building a large-scale made to measure business, we are in profitable standing and on track to average 50% YOY growth between 2015 and 2017," added Green.

The company finished 2016 with 54 percent year-over-year growth.

Indochino first launched in 2007 as an online retailer. It opened its first brick-and-mortar location in its home city of Vancouver in 2014 and is aiming to open 150 showrooms globally in the next five years.
