Harvey Nichols links with Bink for cardless loyalty programme

Harvey Nichols is to launch a loyalty programme in association with Bink, a company that specialises in such programmes but removes the need for plastic loyalty cards and makes it all much easier for the shopper to earn rewards just through buying goods.

The partnership begins later this year with Bink’s Payment Linked Loyalty (PLL) tech being integrated into the luxury retailer’s existing Rewards app. It’s a completely digital initiative which will offer customers passes to free services as well as other exclusive benefits.

When the customer uses his or her payment card, the tech will automatically recognise the user loyalty ID, removing the responsibility from the customer to actively offer their loyalty card for points to be added as is more usual with such schemes.

Bink’s PLL will reflect the four levels of loyalty membership Harvey Nichols customers have, including Silver, Gold, Platinum and Black, with its ease of use expected to encourage more shopper sign-ups and, the retailer hopes, more spending in Harvey Nichols.

It will be available in the chain’s seven UK stores, including its Knightsbridge flagship in London plus Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool, with the launch coming in time for shoppers to earn pre-Christmas rewards.

Bink has been expanding fast with a variety of business across various sectors and also recently announced a deal with Arcadia for its brands including Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge.
