Garments made from smart textiles shown at Fashiontech

The trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, Techtextil, which will be held from May 9-12, 2017 in the US, showed examples of the links between textiles and technology at the Fashiontech conference during the Berlin Fashion Week. Fashion garments which offer heat, illuminate and communicate; also known as smart textiles were shown at Fashion Tech.

One of the apparels was the ‘Monitor Dress’ of Berlin-based designer Lina Wassong, which shows the wearer’s pulse via a circle of LEDs, which has been developed through conductive silver threads.

Another garment label Moon Berlin used textile heating elements that normally warm up car seats for its ‘Pink Bionic’ collection inspired by the ‘Solar Trees’.

One other fashion clothing from Interactive Wear specialised in integrating electronic systems in textiles, and together with fashion designers and labels created smart fashion.
