From the fall/winter 2018 collection onwards Fred+Ginger will become available outside of Belgium, reports Flemish newspaper De Standaard. According to the newspaper, the brand specifically aims to enter the German market as well as ‘emerging markets’ outside of Europe. By offering the collections via wholesale partners the label will respond to a growing demand from abroad, the newspaper said.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad, published on 3 October 2017, CEO Dieter Penninckx revealed that he is also interested in introducing FNG Group’s Belgian brands, including Fred+Ginger, to the Spanish market. The Belgian-Dutch fashion group already operates its label CKS at the country’s El Corte Inglés department stores in addition to a standalone store located at Barcelona’s famous Ramblas.

Fred+Ginger was founded in 2005 and offers collections for children aged 2-14 years.  The brand is part of the FNG Group, which designs and distributes clothing and footwear for both women and children. The group currently owns 10 brands, which operate via 500 standalone stores, shop-in-shops and over 1500 multi-brand stores internationally. FNG Group entered the Dutch market in 2012 with the acquisition of Claudia Sträter. Fred+Ginger is currently available in Belgium via its own stores and at Hudson’s Bay branches in the Netherlands.
