Bubble shines spotlight on children’s fashion in ‘dynamic’ AW17 edition

Children’s fashion trade show Bubble has announced that its latest edition, held on 29 and 30 January at the Business Design Centre in London, was “the most dynamic yet”, with positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors.

The biannual event said early indications showed an overall increase in the number of buyers attending year on year. There was also an uplift in the number of independent and press visitors this season, benefiting from a comprehensive seminar programme and innovative product areas.

Bubble brings together a selection of fashion labels for babies and children, as well as footwear, accessories, homewares, nursery and maternity brands.

“We are happy with the quality of buyers attending the show and the upturn in the number of independents travelling to London from the rest of the UK and overseas, including Australia, India, South Korea and the US as well as healthy numbers from Ireland and Europe,” said Bubble event director Lindsay Hoyes.

New this season was the Peruvian Pavilion, which presented the new collections of four Peruvian artisan companies. The group was supported by the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) and PromPerú. Hoyes said the event is looking to develop similar partnerships for future events.

Other highlights included the ‘Pushmepullyou’ pushchair installation, and the popular Rising Star Award, which saw kidswear brand Love & Honour take the crown.

Meanwhile, Leo Bamford, founder of parenting and lifestyle blog My Baba, selected The Great British Baby Company for her ‘Best in Show’ award, and curated an inspirational Green installation featuring some of the show’s eco and organic exhibitors.

Bubble’s We’ve Got Chemistry space made a welcome return this season with a dedicated area for the industry’s most exciting collaborations. These included soft merino clothing from The Bright Company and Smalls; slogan sweaters and babygros from The Bonnie Mob; and Selfish Mother and Mr Men kidswear by Tobias and the Bear.

The summer edition of the show will take place on 16 and 17 July 2017 at the Business Design Centre.
