Production for a picture about legendary fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been scheduled to begin by the end of the year.

Entertainment news site Deadline revealed that the film will depict both the rise and fall of the talented fashion icon, from his beginnings in London's Savile Row to leading his own fashion label and his tragic death by suicide in 2010.

Director Andrew Haigh has added some extra anticipation to the film's future release with his most recent film "45 Years" starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Coutenay recieving both Academy Award and BAFTA film nominations, reports Deadline.

Playwright Chris Urch ("The Rolling Stone") will take on the screenplay.
